Witness is a logging or compliance recorder that stores the broadcasted audio and video in Windows Media 9 format, allowing the users to view the video stream over the LAN. Witness comes together with its own default browser (Clips Browser) and as an alternative it is possible to integrate Witness with a special version of MediaXplorer, thus exploiting the full potentialities of a Compliance system when supported by a MAM browser.

Clips Browser offers the support to burn a DVD with the material that has been selected in the archive. The administrator of the system can easily configure all the parameters of Witness, beginning from the definition of various templates or profiles. The Profiles may be highly customized and stored for future use, for example:
 SD or HD
Mode (CBR or VBR)
Codec
Standard (PAL, NTSC or Custom)
Audio format
Video format

Witness can store data to single Hard Disk and/or Tape Drive. Witness can also be interfaced to traditional Tape Library or more advanced DiskArchive ALTO-100.
