Media-Alliance to supply Regional Newsrooms to Russia's National Broadcaster, VGTRK

ISPA and Media-Alliance have been awarded a contract to deploy several regional newsrooms by VGTRK, Russia's National Broadcaster.


To better support the installation and commissioning of such a large and prestigious project, ISPA and Media-Alliance have joined forces establish a new company in Moscow. Established in July 2010 the new company will be called "Media-Alliance CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States)".

The VGTRK Regional Studios Project involves the migration of a number of remote Regional Television News production centres from video tape based operation to a fully tape-less and IT based architecture. Each Regional installation will include a full deployment of Media-Alliance software and hardware, including VIVA Ingestion System, AVIO Ingest Video Server, MediaXplorer Media Asset Management, NewsNet Newsroom Computer System, 2D/3D Character Generator and NewsMaster for the News Playout which will be based on Omneon MediaDeck Video Servers. Several other tools will be provided to complement the workflow, such as file based XDCAM or DVCAM ingest and supports Non Linear Editors. VGTRK is one of the first customers worldwide to adopt the ALTO-100 system from Disk Archive Corporation for long term archiving of its assets. ISPA Will provide the System Integration and full support to VGTRK's Regional News systems to ensure smooth deployment of these complex systems.
