Expert TV is a new commercial channel in Russia, which started broadcasting at the end of 2008. Because it was a greenfield operation its planners could create contemporary workflows without worrying about legacy systems and practices.
Working with software from Media-Alliance and systems integrators ISPA, Expert TV created a fully tapeless news production system in high definition. By using JVC disk-based HDV camcorders, there is literally not a single tape anywhere.
The system allows even HDV to be edited on Edius as it arrives, and graphics and 3D effects are built in. Content can be automatically repurposed for other platforms such as the web, ensuring that Expert TV delivers authoritative news to its audience quickly, wherever they are.
